By the Numbers
Score Histogram
Full distribution of 112 tool scores across our 0–100 scale. Average: 69/100.
Key Findings
Patterns from 112 tool evaluations.
Finding #1: 0% of AI tools are not worth the subscription price.
The majority of tools we tested scored below 70 — our threshold for production-worthy. Most marketing budgets assume AI tools deliver ROI. Our data shows a different picture.
Finding #2: Price does not predict quality. The correlation is nearly zero.
Some of the highest-scoring tools cost under $20/mo. Some of the lowest-scoring cost over $100/mo. The best value tools cluster in the $15–$40 range — not budget, not premium.
Finding #3: Presentations averages the highest category score: 74/100.
Category matters more than price. AI Coding averages the lowest — an overcrowded market with weak differentiation between tools.
Finding #4: Free tiers are useful for evaluation — almost never sufficient for production.
16 of 112 tools offer a free tier. In almost every case it hits usage limits within days of serious use. Exceptions: feature-limited free plans (not usage-limited).
